The room is like any other room, really—a cabin with a door, and windows, and beds. But the fireplace never gets warm, and the beds are hard, and the air is cold.

(Is it familiar, this place? It's hard to tell . . .)

On the table there is food—water, and dry bread, and there is a pot of stew that always stays warm, and full, and smells delicious.

There are also five cards, waiting for your decision.

DARK CARDS

Several black cards appear face-up on the table in the center of the room, a shadowy cold emanating off of them. There is writing around the edges—perhaps giving you an idea of what to expect?

There is one red card as well, metallic around the edges. An extra punishment, perhaps?

Corruption/morality switch (5 points)
Slowly, round by round, the princess became the witch; the monster became the hero. Voices that used to plead for mercy now cried for blood.
Drained of blood (10 points)
It was an odd sensation, the hero felt, as if life itself was being drawn out of them, slowly . . . leaving them so cold, yet still animate, still able to move blue lips and lift cold fingers. Was this death? It hardly felt so nice as that.
A touch that feels like knives (5 points)
Even a soft caress felt like a spinning needle being jabbed past the hero's skin.
Fall into a deep sleep (one round) (4 points)
The hero's eyes closed, and they couldn't move, drifting endlessly. But they could hear voices still, hear those calling to them, trapped unawaking and powerless while the world moved on around them.
The red shoes (10 points)
She danced, and she was forced to dance through the gloomy night. The shoes carried her over stack and stone; she was torn till she bled; she danced over the heath till she came to a little house.
