Apple's Heart

Your arrival is marked by the feel of sand under your feet, with the sound and smell of the ocean wafting in from behind you. A dampness hangs in the air and the sky is overcast. Directly in front of you the sand fades into a grassy hill, on top of which a white castle rests. To the left, a little ways off, you can see tall sandstone cliffs. Off to the right is a large field of sunflowers that stretches out into the distance. There are no paths or signs anywhere to be seen.

The doors close behind you. And the guard is gone.

Looks like you've been locked out...

That damn guy--!!

Someone needs to keep their jealousy in check!!!

The door is indeed locked. But there's a path around the side still.

I'll show him.

[TO THE PATH]

The path takes you around the side and through more of the garden. There are a few maids walking down the path, a guard, and a man with blueish hair and a dark coat who is hurrying by.

[can I sneak by them . . . ]

You can. They don't pay you any attention.

[GOOD, I will continue on my adventure >:U]

Up ahead is unmistakably a crop garden, and a little ways beyond that is a large greenhouse. It looks like if you keep taking the path around, it will lead to the back of the castle.

[maybe I'll take a detour and take a tiny peek to the greenhouse]

Inside is, if possible, even larger than outside. Every kind of plant imaginable is here; hanging from the ceiling, in planters and pots, in tall shelves and niches. There are small waterways flowing throughout, bringing all of the plants water. A woman with light hair and a lab coat is there, a playful smile on her face even as she checks on the plants.

Whoa, this is pretty impressive . . .

The woman looks up.

"Ho, you think so? Well I'm glad somebody appreciates it."

Why wouldn't they?

[snoops around, looking at all the plants and flowers!!!!]

There are lots of bright colorful ones, and a lot of plain green ones. There are some you would recognize, like roses and carnations and sunflowers, but more than you wouldn't know.

"Some people just don't stop to smell the roses, you know?"

Not really. Normally I don't talk to a lot of people.

[maybe I will sniff a rose]

It smells wonderful. The woman laughs.

"Then maybe that's your problem~ You're too impatient."

[I can totally argue with that]

[ . . . ]

I can't argue with that.

She has a mischievous smile on her face.

"That's probably why you got kicked out."

[GASP]

How did you know--?!

She laughs. "I pay attention! Don't worry, he's just sulking. If you want, you can head back in. Someone's probably unlocked the doors by now. They won't stay closed for long."

I guess I could but . . .

I wanna find Apple. And I dunno if she's in there.

"She is. Did you even look?"
