Apple's Heart

Your arrival is marked by the feel of sand under your feet, with the sound and smell of the ocean wafting in from behind you. A dampness hangs in the air and the sky is overcast. Directly in front of you the sand fades into a grassy hill, on top of which a white castle rests. To the left, a little ways off, you can see tall sandstone cliffs. Off to the right is a large field of sunflowers that stretches out into the distance. There are no paths or signs anywhere to be seen.

[ just walks towards the door ]

It is a small nap room. The light is on and the bed looks like it’s never been slept in.

The prince follows you in. "No, not here, she's always in the study."

I see . . .

Except she's not in the study.

"Maybe she's hiding." He goes back into the study and starts looking around.

[ . . . looks out the window]

You see the greenhouse. He follows your look and huffs. "She's not there, it's too late in the day! That's for mornings. If she's not here then she's upstairs."

She really does like that sort of thing, doesn't she . . .

"Of course she does, she's a pharmacist." He frowns, clearly frustrated. "Well, she isn't here! Try looking upstairs."

Yeah, yeah . . .

[LEAVING THE ROOM]

You're back in the hallway. Where to?

[the lighter door! '-' your princes are dum]

But they try hard.

The room is unmistakably the pharmacy. There is a large bookshelf full of reference books, and an equally large medicine cabinet. A window to the right shows a clear view of some training grounds where a handful of guards are practicing. At the back of the room there is a mixing area where medicines can be made. To the left there is a small door. At the moment, it seems that no one is here.

[Can I peek into the small door :U]

The handle is hot to the touch, and it makes you feel like blushing. It's also locked.

[PULLING HIS HAND BACK, FACE FLUSHED]

. . .

The room of Romance?! And I can't even look in . . .

[peeks out the window]

You can see the training grounds from the window.

Tch, is Apple really in this place . . . if I go upstairs, I might run into the idiot butler again. On the other hand, if I leave, I might not find Apple for being too impatient . . .

[oh but I guess there was a hallway behind the stairs, wasn't there . . . ]

There was. You went down that hall a little ways with the prince to get to the study.

[HRMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM]

[I wanna avoid the stupid prince . . . maybe I'll go back upstairs after all '-']

The guard from before is absent, should you go back up.

It looks the same, for reference: The stairs lead you to a large circular floor. At the center is a huge white column decorated with a vine design. Curving off to each side are rows of doors that go all the way around. There are maids and guards on this floor too, going in and out of rooms.

[I AM GOING TO LOOK AT THE FIRST DOOR ON THE LEFT!]

There is a bouquet of flowers at the foot of the door, and the door is cracked open a bit. Inside is less of a room and more of a courtyard, with the ceiling opening up into the overcast sky. There is some kind of green plant covering most of the ground, which several kittens are playing around in. In the corner there is an owl sleeping. Right next to the door there is a small niche with a single book inside, bound in an emerald green color.

What a pretty heart, seriously . . .

The door is cracked open a bit. Inside is less of a room and more of a courtyard, with the ceiling opening up into the overcast sky. In the middle of the room there is a small stone table with a large plate of dango. A big, fluffy rug covers most of the stone floor, which four puppies are playing on. A shelf at shoulder height runs all the way around the room. It holds various pots filled with blue and white flowers. Right next to the door there is a small niche with two books inside, both bound in a tiger’s eye yellow color.

What a great interior decorator.
