[you find yourself in a large conference room. To your right is a large computer screen, taking up most of the wall, with the computer controlling it situated beneath and connected to a long table. The screen is currently displaying the details to various missions in progress – WUTAI, BANORA VILLAGE, GONGAGA and a few other names have a INCOMPLETE next to them. Underneath that, in bright green, is INFILTRATION IN PROGRESS
There are also two pictures displayed on the screen – ANGEAL HEWLEY and GENESIS RHAPSODOS; both have a large, red MIA underneath their names.
To the left is a large panel of glass and a door separating the conference room from another, smaller room. Another, smaller computer is set up, and along the far wall are a number of pods. There's a door leading out of that room as well, and a soldier standing nearby]
[the soldier, while he seems on-guard, barely acknowledges you as you enter the room. You have a better view of the other computer now, though – it's displaying a number of different options, though many of them are grayed out, except for the MISSIONS and SOLDIER options]
[you find yourself in . . . well, "Slums" are really the only word for it. There's various debris all over the place; wood, broken electronics, garbage, etc. In the distance you can see a few people milling about, and what looks like where the main part of the Slums begin.
But in front of you stands a large church, almost out of place in an area like this.
Strangest of all, however, is that when you look up, you don't see the sky - but a large, metal plate spreading across the entire sky.]
[you find yourself in what looks like the center of a bustling city. A large, beautiful water fountain stands in front of you, and behind that stretches stairs, leading off to another area. There are also exits to the left and right, leading to other sectors. Behind you, there's a way back into the main building - somehow, you know that that's where you started.
But before you can proceed, a young business woman approaches you, looking just a bit embarrassed. "Excuse me," She whispers. "But could you help me out? I can reward you for your time."]
[the first thing you realize is that it's freakin' cold. Then you realize you're in the middle of a snowy nowhere in the mountains and wonder just what the hell compelled you to come here.
[you find yourself at the entrance to a quaint little village in the mountains. There's a few shops houses, and a hotel to the right and left, with a large water tower in the center. You can see a path leading off to the west and behind the mountain, and another one to the east leading upwards, further into the mountains.
There's the smell of burnt wood in the air, and while the weather is perfect otherwise, there isn't a single person in sight. In fact, it appears that everyone either dropped what they were doing and wandered off or . . . disappeared.
Even stranger, but everything seems to have a greenish tint to it. No matter how many times you blink or rub your eyes, it remains. It sets every instinct you have on edge, raises the hairs on the back of your neck - a wrongness that you can't quite put your finger on.]
[you follow the path around the mountain; it goes on for a bit, winding this way and that and starting to head up hill a bit - until the mountain opens up and reveals that the path leads to an old, somewhat rundown mansion.
The wind blows gently, making the large gates in front sway and creak. You can hear the cries of monsters in the distance, but can't quite make out what direction they're coming from.
The feeling you got as you entered the town has lessened some, but you still feel on-guard and wary]
[you find yourself in a quaint little village in the middle of nowhere. The air is warm and humid, though people continue to mill about doing their everyday things. You can see a few huts up ahead, some acting as homes, others as stores]
