The other automaton laughs giddily. "Haha, do you like me?"

Fear hesitates, looking down at the automaton in his grasp.

"I believe in you!" the broken automaton says. "You can fix me! That's great!"

Fear's hands open, letting go, and it lets out a plaintive whining noise. "Don't come between me and myself!" He tells you.

The other automaton falls into your arms.

"It's necessary," Fear says, retreating into the corner and hugging his knees unhappily, watching them.

The broken one laughs and shakes its head.

Okay... ah... which parts need replacing the most?

[looks him over]

Its casing is damaged, one of its eyes is missing, a foot fell off, several other joints are missing, it is cracked on the whole, and fairly splintered.

He laughs again. "Broken things get repaired here or destroyed." Its single eye moves from the workbenches to the pile of broken automatons.

There look to be about five (perhaps more, perhaps less, given some random detatched parts) automatons in the pile. You may have to yank some parts out but go for it, the automatons are completely still and unresisting, apparently dead.

There are also tools etc on one of the workbenches.

It holds still, laughing.

Everything in there looks bent and damaged. You'll have to remove the broken joint gears and slide new ones in. It is a slow and painful process, the edges just sharp enough and firmly enough attached to hurt your fingers as you work at it.

It watches you, laughing. Slowly you get that joint repaired.

Slowly, you get all its joints more or less repaired.

Its casing is still damaged and its eye is still missing. Is there anything you want to do for this?
