Wako's Heart

You are standing in the middle of the main street of a sizable downtown area.

The early morning sun hangs low in the east. The air is salty and fresh – and oh man is your nose sharp! You can smell the people who came in here with you from yards away! Other stuff smells that strong, too! There is a spring breeze in the air. How do you know it’s spring? You just do. It’s the vibe here. Tropical trees and flowers grow in window boxes and small gardens. There are fairly standard shops (a movie theater! A book store! Small clothing boutiques! And so on), with trucks, cars, and bicycles parked at the curbs. There are no people or animals in sight, but there’s birdsong hanging in the air. It seems to be coming in every direction.

Oh. And you’re dressed like stripper clowns.

[ Your bus drives away. As soon as it starts, moving, the view through the windows changes to rolling dunes, sand, and the sea. ]

[ooooooooh stuck to the window, what are buses this is awesome :'D]

Whoa!! It's moving!

[ And the scenery is beautiful! All rolling dunes and the sparkling sea...

Ten minutes later, the bus stops. The door opens, revealing a broad stretch of beach.

In front of you is, of course, the ocean. Behind you is a vending machine. A bit in front of you and to the left, down a hill and buried in the sand, is a totem pole lying on its side. A ways away to are the docks, ships of varying sizes, a parking lot, and a few buildings. ]

So this is Wako's world? That's... a lot of water!

[let's check out this vending machine first because what are vending machines]

[ It’s a vending machine with a spout and something that looks like a bottle drop. There are buttons with pictures for water, soda, diet soda, and a few kinds of fruit juice. ]

[ An empty bottle drops into the little tray. The spout starts pouring soda. Better catch it! ]

[adfkjdhdn fumbles with it but manages to takes the bottle and put it right below the spout]

[ Your bottle is filling up with soda. ]

[this is like magic! trying to keep himself from pressing a second button as he looks at the soda fall]

[ Okay your bottle is full now. Also, Alois has appeared in a cloud of sparkles behind you! ]

[takes the bottle and turns around, ready to sip--]

When did you get here?! A-And why the hell are you dressed like that?!

[looks down, oh, am I in short shorts. this is... absolutely nothing new. exaggerated shrug, and holds his hands out, portraying that he has no idea]

Me? You don't even have pants on!
