Misato's Heart

You find yourself at the start of a very long corridor. The temperature is cool and all of the walls are made of smooth, steel plaques. You can make out what seems like a door several feet away, at the other end of the corridor.

Your footsteps echo as you walk and exactly halfway through you can see two more corridors branching out to the sides:

To the left, at exactly the same distance as both doors, is a large board displaying some text you can’t make out from here.

To the right, there appears to be nothing but a desk with some papers on it and an empty, red chair behind it.

The doors open with a ding. As you step out, you find yourself at the utmost layer of a very large... command room? An alarm seems to be going off, and the wide screen in front of you blinks in red with the words ANGEL ATTACK, everyone is too busy analyzing information and calling out statuses to notice you.

You can hear Misato’s voice not far from where you are. “We can't use Rei, she's still recovering!”

He's not picking up.

[puts his hand on her shoulder to see if he's really there or not]

Katsuragi. Do you know where he is?

[looks back at him, a little confused]

What's your backup plan?

The UN is already after it, we have about an hour left before it reaches HQ.

Dragging someone out of their sickbed is something Commander Ikari would do. Just who are you doing this for?
