Erika heart

You get the sense that you pass through a door, but it shuts immediately behind you. However, when you look back, there is nothing but a dead end wall behind you. There is carpet is lush beneath your feet, and the corners are free of dust. Except for the lack of any actual entrance, it could easily be the entranceway of a lavish mansion.

Any magical or otherwise supernatural abilities you have are disabled.

When you look forward again, you can see that you are at the end of a long hallway. There are three doors on each side of the hall, each one made of heavy wood and embossed with intricate designs. The last door on on your left appears to be ajar, but the rest are not only closed, but appear to have a strip of duct tape across the door and the doorframe.

Beyond the doors, the hallway opens up into a larger room. From here, you can see part of a long table with exquisite place settings, and beyond that, an even more intricate (and much larger) door.

This appears to be a bedroom. The narrow bed is neatly made, and other than the wardrobe and desk, all the walls are lined with bookshelves, which are all packed solidly full of books. On the desk are several rolls of duct tape, a heavy black marker, and a fingerprinting kit. By the door is a hook with five keys hung from it.

The room is otherwise empty.

There is a narrow bed in this room, as well as a large wardrobe.. But more attention-grabbing is the rest of the room, which contains a collection of various implements that together might give a somewhat worrying impression: a large toolbox, a rack of utility knives, dull wooden stakes of various sizes, rope, strips of leather, some graters and vegetable peelers... In one corner is a cage, big enough for a person, although too short for them to stand upright in, with a heavy padlock.

Erika is sitting on the bed, testing the sharpness of a knife with a finger and giggling when it draws blood.

As you enter the room, you feel immediately weak and sluggish. It takes concerted effort to keep walking.

This room is a bedroom, but it's incredibly bare. There's only a narrow bed in it.

Erika is sitting on the bed, and she looks up immediately when you enter.

This appears to be a bedroom. There's a large bed and a wardrobe, but the bed has been mostly stripped. It smells strongly of burnt flesh, and the bedding is laying on the floor, slightly charred, and covering a much more charred figure just barely recognizable as Erika.

It's obvious at a glance that she's dead.

This appears to be a bedroom. There is a large bed and a wardrobe. It is brightly lit by overhead lights... there is a large window on the opposite wall, but it doesn't seem to have any means of opening, and the only thing you can see through it is featureless black space.

Supine on the floor is Erika. Her throat has been slit very deeply, blood soaking the entire front of her dress and pooling on the floor around her, and she has small knives stabbed to the hilt in each of her eyes.

There's a larger, bloodied knife on the floor beside her, as well as a bloody pink dress and shoes, matching her outfit precisely.

This appears to be a bedroom. There is a large bed and a wardrobe. The room is decorated warmly, lamps and upholstery in bright colors. There are picture frames on the wall, but they're all empty.

Erika is suspended from a ceiling light by a bedsheet looped around her neck, and a chair is overturned on the floor beside her. She's very likely dead.

There is a cast-iron frying pan on the floor.

It's a kitchen. It's very large, and appears to be suited for elaborate entertaining. There's a free-standing refrigerator and freezer, a wine rack, various pots and pans hung from hooks above the counter, two knife blocks sitting on the counter, and a large oven and stove. The far end is lined with shelving probably intended to be used as a pantry, although all the shelves are empty.

Of course it isn't as fine as my estate, but how pleasing. At least Erika is able to torment us in relative comfort.

Why, hello again, miss Meadow! It seems I've returned quite in the middle of something ♥

The ceiling is arched, and appears to open up to a higher ceiling at the end of the hall.

The ajar door is embossed with an intricate letter I. There's a keyhole in the doorknob, but the door is open a few inches. There's no duct tape on this door either.
