I disappear. Or perhaps a remnant will remain as testimony of my existence. The dead are never forgotten here.

Does it bother you otherwise?

When others went in my heart -- it's happened three times, now -- the pieces of me changed, they told me. Some of them just grew up a little, others grew up a lot and took on different names and tasks. But once they were there, they'd always be, in some way. It's the same for me as the person built up around my heart, as well.

And maybe I believe the same of others, because of that . . .

To lay down a task when it's no longer needed; to be remembered when you move on: those don't bother me. Someone just disappearing, or part of someone, would.

But . . . it doesn't sound like that's something you need to worry about?

[ Penance closes his eyes, then looks down at the hand with the snowflake. ]

We can never forget. Not the good or the bad. Only terrible events lay on that path.

[ True Heart's pulled away after awhile to enjoy the work he's incurred, namely Josh and Ven cuddling and Night getting toppled by siblingfeels. He's pretty damn pleased. ]
