[you are suddenly at the bottom of a pile of heavy, square-cornered objects. it is rather hard to breathe and they're jabbing you in uncomfortable places. you may want to move.]

[at this level you can see two big ones spaced equally to either side that clearly hold things; the jumps are long but not impossible.]

[sets his jaw firmly and determinedly, backing away to the edge of the cage. his gaze flickers down toward the fiery floor, then back up again.

and with another deep breath, he runs and leaps as far as he can, arm and hands outstretched to grab a hold of the sides of the cage in case he falls short]

[YOU MAKE IT TO THIS ONE! inside is half a funny-shaped copper casing with some holes in it, easy to maneuver out]

[lets out a sigh of relief and does just that, pocketing the casing-- and making a mental note that he sure has picked up a lot of stuff.

quickly preps himself for another jump and leaps back to the original cage so he can go for the other piece next]

immediately reaches out to attempt to grab a hold of the cage bars as tightly as he can]

[IT'S LIKE THAT ONE SCENE IN THE LION KING IF THE WILDEBEESTS WERE ALL ON FIRE]

s-struggling to pull himself up onto the roof. how hot is that flame on the floor getting. . .]

[u-uncomfortably so. you can pull yourself up...!]

[doing just that before the uncomfortable heat becomes even more uncomfortable burns]

the other half of the casing is in this cage, and there's a copper wing in a tiny cage on a chain you'd also have to jump upward to]

[wheeeew another close call. works the casing out of the cage and-- yep, into his pocket it goes. and then (after taking a moment to catch his breath) he leaps up toward that tiny cage for the copper wing]

[you catch it and swing on it; below you the fire rises up to the level of the cage you were just on]

[ignoring that for now as he hangs onto the cage tightly and tries to work the wing out of it at the same time]

. . . except now what do I do there is fire everywhere. is there a cage roof nearby that is still rising above the flames. . .]

[YES you are in high cage country now, somewhat above the nest platform's level, not so high that you couldn't jump to it in a real pinch

you're totally gonna have to Tarzan swing to get anywhere from here though.]

[that's cool, I am a monkey, this kind of Tarzan swinging IS IN MY BLOOD.

starts kicking and using the momentum of his body weight to get that swinging going]

[you get a decent swing going! do you jump leftward or rightward?]

[YOU LAND ON TOP OF A BIG HANGING CAGE . . . that has a slippery sloped roof, watch out]

[urk-- definitely slipping some. grabbing at the edges of the cage to keep from falling completely]

when you've regained some sort of bearing, there are two tiny cages with the other wing and the bird's head within your reach]
