Where you got them, that kind of thing... their stories.

"Talking about this cheapens them... it could ruin them," he says. "Because they're so fragile words can damage them."

Ah, words can hurt...

"Yes. Even if you think something's precious words can ruin it. And I don't want to lose any of these things! I don't want to..."

It would make me happy to know whose picture was in this, but if it would hurt it, you shouldn't tell me.

It pets your hair again, finger joints catching at some strands. "I don't want to lose anything."

Can you tell me about the lamp?

"The lamp makes this room visible from the outside! It keeps it warm in here so I don't stop feeling it."

"Anything that isn't cold."

Could you take it to other places? Outside seems very cold indeed.

"Oh, but if I took it out of here, this room would be dark and cold."

That's not the nature of fire... it can light other things, can't it?

"Do you have anything to light? Anyway if you want to warm up the outdoors, that's impossible."

Why is that?

"The outdoors is completely frozen. It's not worth it to go out there. It's just how it is."

You could warm up more of the rooms in here, though...

"Oh, no, I can't."

"Some of them couldn't stand to be warm. It would cause all kinds of trouble."

"Okay. Please come back." He pets your hair and face again.
