"It means too broken to function, but not broken enough to die." Fear drags the other automaton closer by the wrist. Its foot falls off when he does so. "Let me put it down! It's mine, so I can put it down!"

Then-- [pausing to shake his head a bit, kind of fiercely] That doesn't mean you should just put it down! Something like this, you have to take care of it! If it's yours, why are you just throwing it away like that?

Pascal takes the broken automaton from Fear, who lets out a pathetic whining noise.

[approaching Fear then, carefully, reaching into his pockets--doing it slowly and exaggerated, so that the actions are obvious--ANOTHER PIECE OF WRAPPED PINEAPPLE]

That's no fun, is it? You deserve to have better than just "getting by."

It's fruit. And that'd be a terrible thing to do to food. I wouldn't disrespect food that way.

[unwrapping it; it is a slightly squashed but otherwise fine piece of pineapple! splitting it with his fingers, and offering Fear the bigger half]

They're good, but they get kinda sticky.

It watches you eat, then pops the pineapple into its open mask. You can hear it splort against some gear in there.

Sometimes it's just nice to have. Sometimes you just want things 'cause you want them, you don't have to always explain yourself.
