Alas, it doesn't seem to. The grandfather clocks seem to need door keys; these are keys to insert into old, hand-wound clocks. There's a variety of sizes, though.

There are a variety of them! Most have little holes for keys to be inserted on their fronts or their sides. The remainder of them seem to be battery-powered.

As you wind any, they start to tick regularly. Some bong or bing or chirp as they pass the hour marks (depending on when their hands were set, of course) but the ones you wind appear to be functioning, if not in sync with each other.
