Game 50 • Ayame's Heart

The air here is cool, and the grass under your feet is slightly damp. You can hear birds singing in the distance, but you can't tell where the sound is coming from. This appears to be some sort of forest clearing; there are trees all around you, but the area you're in is flat— the trees and dense shrubs have been stripped completely bare. There are two buildings off in the distance, past a thin line of trees.

The buildings appear unremarkable, set equidistant from each other and the clearing. If you listen, under the birdsong, you can hear the faint sound of bells coming from the one on the right.

If you turn around to face the other side, you can also see a dense, dark path through the underbrush. You cannot see what the path leads to.

The bells stop ringing as you approach, replaced with a more general sound of people and music. It's indistinct and very faint, and you can see no people or objects around that it could be coming from. The doors are large and open, and there is an iris painted above them.

This path doesn't look like it's been used for some time. It's narrow and overgrown and as full of thorns as Aather's forest. It also splits into two directions. Something cold hits the back of your neck, or your face— there is snow coming from the right path, while a warm breeze blows in from the left.

Which path will you take?

[gives the path with snow an almost pained look... but heads down the warm path instead.]

The left building, as you draw closer to it, seems to be Coral's cabin. As you walk down the path, you find it turns into a painted screen under your feet— only this painting is moving. A swallowtail butterfly flits after you, a dog mimes barking, a calico cat grooms, a raccoon walks into something invisible, a dove flutters its wings, and a dragonfly flies in circles.
