[You find yourselves in a castle corridor, well-lit and bright from the many windows that are phased along the left wall. If you look out of them, you can see out into a bright summer day in a place you would not recognise.

Of course they do. Though roses are one bush, they know better than to cluster together. They see the world from different places, and drink in the sunlight from opposite directions. Differences help the whole plant grow.
