Solstice Heart

Entering into the heart, you feel a strong sense of resistance pushing you away. It’s easy enough to overcome if you push back, but it soon reverses and you’re pulled into an unfamiliar mansion.

What did we mess up?

[puts him down, maybe slumping means you won't try to kick me]

How do I put this. . . You caved in the place I used to shove down. . . well, a lot of bad stuff. If that was all you did, I might've been okay after a fashion. Might've helped me get over a thing or two. . . Not that I'm saying I needed anyone to come stomp around my heart like this at all.

[ahem]

But you took an integral part of that out. You even brought him here. But he's too important to just get rid of.

I can't put him back, so that means there are some things I won't be able to suppress when I wake up.

[nope, no more attempts at shin kicking]

[he shoves his hands into his pockets and tilts his chin up, still frowning]

So we were supposed to just let the room cave in around him? Let him die in that chaos? What good would that have done?

[reluctantly]

You saw it, didn't you? It was going to cave in eventually. Naturally.

[glances at the tiny solstice]

He wouldn't have stayed "dead" forever, I'm sure. Not from that.

[turning away from him a bit, suppressing another curse as he rakes a hand through his hair]

. . . so what will you not be able to suppress?

. . . Guilt. Fear. . . fear of dying. Powerlessness.

[tiny sol slinks guiltily (haha. . .) behind the desk]

[winces; this sounds familiar]

Can you rebuild it?

I may have to start from scratch, but. . . maybe not. You guys did something, something else, I'm not sure what yet.

[pauses. . . then reaches up to tug the hem of his shirt]

[thankfully, he does not actually poke Solstice in the eyes]

[he does, however, grab a hold of the collar of his shirt and bop him on the back of the head.]

When we get outta here, you'd better talk to me. You weren't here when it happened, but I was a wreck for a long time after my heart game.
