Solstice Heart

Entering into the heart, you feel a strong sense of resistance pushing you away. It’s easy enough to overcome if you push back, but it soon reverses and you’re pulled into an unfamiliar mansion.

This is an incredibly bad idea, it's not like I can get at the files while someone's reading them, and... Well, darkness seems the obvious place for problems to be.]

[Looks like the files are free again, if you want to check those out. Or you can continue into the totally safe and welcoming darkness, up to you.]

[. . . Actually you can't, as the moment you head for the door with the files it shuts and disappears in the darkness.]

[...Of course. I suppose I should put them back and then check out the darkness, then.]

[Anyway, it sure is dark out here and that feeling of being watched is slowly escalating over time. It feels malicious, too.]

[...Of course it is... Well then, let's head back into the light, sit on a stool, close my eyes and wait for psychic senses to pick a position up while I pretend to try to sleep.]

[It's a good thing you're not actually trying to sleep because it would be nigh impossible with this sensation bearing down on you.]

[Of course it's from behind... And I bet that if I turn around, it'll suddenly still be behind me. For now, just focusing on her wind magic and preparing to summon her sword...]

[As she's doing that, she may find something cold and hard pressed to the back of her head and hear a deep chilling voice.]

I don't know what you're waiting for, but I'm going to have to cut it short.

[...Well good, I know where whatever it is, is. Probably a gun, right? Well... Let's see, need to time this just right...

1. Ducking my head so it isn't immediately on the weapon.
2. Use wind magic to further blow it out of position.
3. Summon death incarnate sword.
4. slash at where the weapon should be.

Going to pull that off as soon as I see an opportunity. For now though, they're probably not going to kill me. If they wanted me dead, they probably could have done it from a distance.

So I suppose that means nodding and moving to a standing position, with my hands above my head.]

[The gun (yeah spoilers it's a gun) stays pressed to her head as she moves, and the man chuckles]

....Again, I'm going for the weapon itself, but I wouldn't mind if I got the rest of the hand too. Maybe if you don't want to lose your hand, you wouldn't put a gun to someone's head.]

[Her plan works well enough, though not enough to take his hand off, alas. The gun is made useless though, and he drops what's left of it.]

[Whether or not you would have been able to counter that, you suddenly feel yourself yanked roughly from behind, your already dark surroundings blinking out before you suddenly find yourself elsewhere.]
