Solstice Heart

Entering into the heart, you feel a strong sense of resistance pushing you away. It’s easy enough to overcome if you push back, but it soon reverses and you’re pulled into an unfamiliar mansion.

[anything standing out? checking on the desk while surveying the room]

[Nothing particularly stands out at first glance, aside from the desk, perhaps.]

[The desk has a book and three framed photos sitting on it. One is of a man and a woman together smiling widely. The other is of Solstice (tiny sized) with a teenage girl. The third is of Solstice (also tiny sized) with a group of four children. A fourth frame lies face-down on the desk.]

[The fourth photo is of Solstice (teenage sized) and the girl from the other photo together at an amusement park.]

[sticking the leg out so it can stand up, reading the title of the book]

[It's a book of riddles.]

[(unsure) going over to check and open the closet]

[In the closet a variety of clothes are hung, and there are some Amethyst uniforms from both this realm and the last one neatly folded in an open box on the floor.]

Solstice? Are you here?

[there's no response but I'm sure he'd be offended to know you were looking for him in a closet]

[i haven't checked under the bed yet, but i will fix that]

What is he wearing?

[Well, you can look through the clothes if you want. . . or just go look under the bed.]

[UNDER THE BED, your clothes look to be in order, right??]

[They do seem to be orderly, yes.]

[There is a box under the bed.]

[hmm, reaching to pull that out, yes]

[Inside you find a variety of… odd children’s toys? There’s a red bow tie, a pair of children’s red and white shoes, a skateboard, a pair of large frame glasses, and a small badge.]

[i bet he wouldn't like it if i— and holding the glasses up to look through them, ooh]

[The lenses are plain glass, so nothing's distorted. There's a small button on the side.]

[why is there a button? what would it do? pressing . . . ]

[An image pops up on the lenses of the glasses. It appears to be an overhead map of the room. If you press the button again it cycles through two other maps, though the last one seems a bit glitchy.]

[glancing around to check that everything matches up, then putting them on her head; checking over the bowtie and badge now]

[congratulations on your new look]

[The bowtie has some kind of device built into it, there are dials and an on/off switch on the back. The badge also looks like it could be a mini radio, but attempting to use it only gets you static.]

[i am so hipster, putting the box on top of the bed, leaving it open, and going to head downstairs]

[You're back in the foyer; will you head toward the books or amethyst?]
