Amethyst - Game 198

You find yourself standing in a small, snowy clearing in a pine forest. It's nighttime and bitterly cold, moreso than Camelot; the stars go on forever, and there's a very bright full moon. You can see quite easily. There's a stone archway behind you, and through it you can see the Ring, still with the tables full of mead laid out. Scattered around the clearing are twenty-four free-standing wooden doors, carved and polished. They don't seem like they'd lead anywhere if you opened them, but well, #personae.

You are standing between the front legs of a giant cow; you come up no higher than her knees. She seems to be made entirely of frost and rime. Dribs and crystals make up her fur, yet you do not feel cold in the least, for though you stand on an endless plain of infinitely cold ice, above you there is burning fire, and between them stands this cow. She has her head bent low, patiently licking the ice. Crystalline drops of salty icewater scatter around your feet.

Well, the fire is above the ice, and her licking the ice is making water, so... ...you know, like melting and so on.

It may not be a power exactly, but in this room it looks like an important cycle, of sorts.

I think the way you put it first is more accurate. Change of state. Everything here is water in some form, except for the fire.

[pause]

That would make the fire the most powerful, wouldn't it? It's the energy that triggers the change in state... gah, I don't need to be making this so complicated.

Well, I think the friction from the licking is doing it too. But that generates heat also, so...
