Peridot - Game 198

You find yourself standing in a small, snowy clearing in a pine forest. It's nighttime and bitterly cold, moreso than Camelot; the stars go on forever, and there's a very bright full moon. You can see quite easily. There's a stone archway behind you, and through it you can see the Ring, still with the tables full of mead laid out. Scattered around the clearing are twenty-four free-standing wooden doors, carved and polished. They don't seem like they'd lead anywhere if you opened them, but well, #personae.

Ah, I guess we can't choose a door that's had something picked from it already . . .

Want to try the last one next?

Sure; we can work inward that way. [leans on]

[leaning back]

I'm a little curious about the rooms people have been to already though.

We may have to wait and see about those.

So, what power does "Trade" give us?

Future profits? Or maybe it makes us more notable . . . It's not really easy to translate to magic.
fragmentedimago: (trust me I'm an adult~)

Hmm, I think there are ways -- if you think outside the box. Like...

Trade gives us the power to trade a room we'd pick for another room someone else has.

Or,

Trade gives us the power to automatically exchange something we've taken for something someone else ended up with which is more valuable.

Or,

Trade lets us ask a team what they have, and swap with them at the end.

Well, I do use spells with words. Or will, when I have that skill back.
crueltobekind: (Idea!)

Or "tradition".
fragmentedimago: (all your theories turn to dust)

Tradition may encompass more of the elements.

Re: Room Selection

[personal profile] crueltobekind 2013-06-19 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
But would it give us a good power?
fragmentedimago: (let go and jump in)

Re: Room Selection

[personal profile] fragmentedimago 2013-06-19 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
The power to predict an outcome based on the theory that others around us have had similar outcomes before.
crueltobekind: (But you love me all the same)

Because we have the benefit of having been taught the way things will be by our elders and their elders before them? Experience passed on through generations.
fragmentedimago: (why'd you have to be so cute?)

Room: 24
Item: Shield traced - "Tradition"
Magic: It gives us the ability to predict an outcome, because we have the benefit of having been taught the way things will be by our elders, and their elders before them. It gives us experience which was passed through generations.
