There is carpet is lush beneath your feet, and the corners are free of dust. Except for the lack of any actual entrance, it could easily be the entranceway of a lavish mansion.

Any magical or otherwise supernatural abilities you have are disabled.

As soon as you take the book off the shelf, it falls open in your hands, and you experience a memory. It's vivid while it lasts, but the moment it's over it starts fading, until it's like you only read it in a book...

There doesn't appear to be anything on the bookshelf other than books, and the underlined books are indistinguishable from the others except for their marks in the index.
