Nimue is in the center of the formation of teams, and when she speaks, you can hear her loud and clear.

"Storytelling has been a tradition of the knights of Camelot for some time. They would tell of the awesome feats of their king, and of their fellow knights... and... they were also prone to exaggeration in some cases."

There appears a small set of cards next to the liquor. You can read them, or you can implicitly understand them if you can't read.

"What feats have the heroes of Aather accomplished, I wonder? And what... exaggerations they may take? Before you, you will find prompts for your tales. You will write one for yourselves, for a set of knights, and for another team. I will select the most inspiring, as will your peers."

She tilts her head. "Ah, perhaps it is bad to encourage grandstanding..."

But before you can ask her, she vanishes.

So that, plus the prompt for Carnelian right? I guess the clothes got ruined while Carnelian was traversing through a battlefield of deadly enemies! And then, just as Carnelian takes a moment to rest, out comes a deadly assassin!

I think we should have some variation in our stories.

Well yeah, she said we should only have the fighting for 'a' story, so why not make it the Carnelian one!

As long as that's true.

I like that one! It adds a bit of suspense to it.

Okay, let's try again:

"Once upon a time, there was a hero named Alena who traveled Aather looking for food to bring to her team. Before she knew it, dusk had fallen and many monsters appeared again and again, each more vicious than the last. Alena scarcely made it through, her adventuring cape was torn, her gloves were marred with scratches, and her boots had holes from where the monsters had bit at her ankles.

When she had found the food and thought it was safe to relax, one last obstacle appeared. A vicious assassin, with a knife!"

If you want to make it inspiring, maybe go into how hard it was to get the food! Something about how your team was struggling to make ends meet, and that the Monsters were just the cherry on top... or maybe your clothes got ruined while looking for food! And who sent the assassin anyway? Someone Carnelian was in competition for food with? You gotta think the story through, make the audience really identify with ya!

The only edible food available was on an island in the middle of a lake. Though it was far, she swam out to the island and climbed the tall fruit tree to pick its many oranges, lemons, and pineapples. When she jumped down with her haul and thought it was safe to relax, one last obstacle appeared. She heard a dark voice remark: 'Good work... I will take that fruit for myself!' A vicious assassin, with a knife had appeared and reached out to attack her and steal the food she had worked so hard to get!"

Why would you hire an assassin to take food from someone else?

No, none of the personae would go out of their way to attack someone with a knife.

Uh, I agree with Alena. Who says assassins are hired? Aren't they just people who are acting out on a hit against you...

Why are they acting out on a hit against you? Weren't they asked?

I figure it's more you make a target of yourself... maybe there's a hit laid out against anyone who collects food! Or it's like... Alena thought they were an assassin because obviously they came to kill her! But then it turns out to be a misunderstanding since it's meant to be inspiring, and Alena could take pity on them and offer some food and they become friends because it was all a tragic circumstances and she's a good guy?

I like that it might be a misunderstanding, because that makes more sense than the alternative. But why would she have that misunderstanding that someone would be coming to kill her in the first place?

Cause they'd be attacking her out of desperation? Maybe she took the last of the fruit on the tree!

Well, at least that's better than revenge.

That's not the only way to be inspiring.
