Apple's Heart

Your arrival is marked by the feel of sand under your feet, with the sound and smell of the ocean wafting in from behind you. A dampness hangs in the air and the sky is overcast. Directly in front of you the sand fades into a grassy hill, on top of which a white castle rests. To the left, a little ways off, you can see tall sandstone cliffs. Off to the right is a large field of sunflowers that stretches out into the distance. There are no paths or signs anywhere to be seen.

Near the edge of the cliff there is an arrow embedded into the stone. A messenger bag is hanging on a branch of the tree, as is a simple necklace. There is a withered bouquet of flowers behind the iron door, and a bowl of ice cream. There is a life-size wood carving of a baby black bear sleeping under the tree.

[touching where the arrow is embedded in the stone with light fingers, then going to see what's in the bag :|a if possible, without taking it down]

When you touch the arrow you get a flash of this scene.

Touching the bag gives you a flash of this scene. If you look inside there is a book, a lamp, sweets, matches, and some medicinal plants.

I guess your life could be pretty exciting too ...

It's a big, thick book on medicinal mountain plants.

They do. The book says they have paralytic properties if burnt.

I guess this is the sort of thing you'd need to know as a pharmacist.

[putting the book back, then going to check out the other things -- the door, the ice cream, etc]

If you touch the door you get a flash of this scene. The ice cream just looks like it's melting.

There is a necklace hanging from the tree, and a life-size wooden baby black bear sleeping underneath it.

Looks just like a sleeping bear. If you touch it, you get an image of Mau sitting up on the cliffs with Apple.

You've got a great view! You probably saw the view earlier, didn't you.

Out across the ocean you can see a ship sailing away, and several things glittering in the water near the shore. Dolphins are jumping around in the waves, playing with one another. The beach is far sunnier than anything else you can see.

You have a better view of the castle, though you can’t exactly see anything besides...that it’s a castle. The top looks blurry no matter how much you try to focus on it.

Beyond that you can see the sunflower fields. There are dead patches here and there, growing more and more frequent the closer they get to a cloud of mist hanging over the far end. You can’t see anything beyond that.

[welp. time to climb down -- still careful, oi -- and head for the sunflower fields, since I have no real interest in castles]
