It's totally normal, man.

There's a sudden spark--the lantern flares before your eyes, brightly enough that you might have to look away--you hear a soft click.

When you look back at the gate, you'll find it's swung open. Continuing along the path--or flying over like a huge dick I guess--leads you to a stone platform, with a huge grassy lawn beyond . . . .
