Now c'mon — I get the feeling we're supposed to be arguing about something, but you haven't told me what yet.

"... I don't know," he says, leaning back and wincing. "I'm tired already."

[taking the hand without a sword in it to examine the injuries]

"I'm fine," he mutters. His hand has rows across it - like it's been deliberately hit. Something is still clutched in that hand.

Like hell.

[. . . he's chained up but whatever; makes an executive decision to cast cure on this kid]

He makes one hell of a face like MUST YOU? But it doesn't seem like a surprise, either.

Good. Spark'd better know me that well at least.

. . . when you go downstairs, what do you do? What do you see? You've got a blindfold on.

"I'll bet there has," he mutters through his teeth.

[shakes his head, looking down at the hand he's still got between his]

I left some candles. But that's not what I was talking about.

It's still clenched pretty tightly!

"I don't know what you're talking about then."

Do you really want to sit in here blind with a sword you can't use, doing nothing and not understanding how stuff is changing around you? I don't know what part of the heart you are, but I know there's more you can do than that. Take off the blindfold for a little bit and let me show you what's down there now. If you don't care, fine, put it back on. But if you haven't decided to not think about what's down there, you at least should see.

He hesitates, then gives a cutting grin.

"If you don't know what I am, why are you helping me? Couldn't you be helping a part you hate?"

His grin drops so much for that >(

[tugs at his hand a little...]

C'mon. If you've got the courage to remember, you oughta have the courage to look.

He tenses up considerably.
