Do you really want to sit in here blind with a sword you can't use, doing nothing and not understanding how stuff is changing around you? I don't know what part of the heart you are, but I know there's more you can do than that. Take off the blindfold for a little bit and let me show you what's down there now. If you don't care, fine, put it back on. But if you haven't decided to not think about what's down there, you at least should see.

He hesitates, then gives a cutting grin.

"If you don't know what I am, why are you helping me? Couldn't you be helping a part you hate?"

C'mon. If you've got the courage to remember, you oughta have the courage to look.

He tenses up considerably.

"I-- . . ."

[waits?]

"I can't."

At least tell me why.

"You'll just get angry."

I get mad at a lot of stuff. Tell me anyway.

"If I can't remember them on my own, I don't deserve to see them."

. . . you can't remember?

"I can remember fine! I can't ever stop remembering!"

Then why don't you deserve to see them?

"I already said. You don't understand."

It sounds to me like if you remember them, maybe you're the only one who can really look right now.

Anyway, this is looking at something you don't remember, 'cause you haven't seen it yet. Will you come if we only look at that?
