✿ CARNELIAN
You find yourself in a medium-sized traditional Japanese-style room: tatami on the floor, shoji screens for the walls, etc. It smells slightly musty from disuse. There is a wooden door in one corner. Candles on stands like the ones in the ring provide plenty of light — definitely enough to see that the room is oddly empty save for a central display:
A life-size doll in a kimono lies on the floor, a low lacquered table on either side of her shoulders. On the right table is a brush and supplies for mixing ink. There are two sticks of ink: black and red. On the left table is a scalpel, a pair of rusty garment shears, a pair of forceps, a needle, and a spool of crimson thread.
The doll is, of course, completely featureless. Her kimono has been pulled open in front just enough for a gaping hole in the center of her chest to be visible.
The Masked Lady's voice rings out: "But she continued to weep, hiding her face from him with one of her long sleeves. "Young miss," he said again, as gently as he could, "please, please listen to me! This is no place for a young lady at night! Do not cry, I implore you!— only tell me how I may be of some help to you!" Slowly she rose up, but turned her back to him, and continued to moan and sob behind her sleeve. He laid his hand lightly upon her shoulder, and pleaded with her… then that young miss turned round, and dropped her sleeve, and stroked her face with her hand; and the man saw that she had no eyes or nose or mouth, and he screamed and ran away.
… or something like that, anyway. What a cruel man, leaving that young woman to her distress! This poor doll seems to have lost her face as well. Will you help her find it again~? Or will you give her a new one? Let's see… she'll need two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. If you could find her lost heart as well, I suppose that would be a bonus…!
You may use the tools I have given you in this room, or you may explore further in the hope of finding others… But I can't guarantee what will happen in either case, ufufufu…"
((OOC RULES:
- Give the doll a face. How you do this is up to you.
- The exploration portion is optional -- it's possible to stay in this room for the entire game, if that's what your team wants. Overall, the game is as complicated/simple and long/short as you want it to be. Choosing not to explore does not mean you lose the possibility of winning.
- Exploration will be capped at THREE HOURS MAX.
- Be creative ♥ ))

THE DECORATING!
So.
[…has a fingernail and a tray of glass eyeballs.]
Re: THE DECORATING!
...maybe she needs more than two eyes.
Re: THE DECORATING!
[slipping the fingernail into her chest cavity.]
Re: THE DECORATING!
You could line them up like teeth? Kind of gross though.

✿ EXPLORATION

Re: ✿ EXPLORATION
The door creeeaaaaks open. Beyond it is a fairly unremarkable, albeit gloomy, genkan. You find yourself on the raised, wooden portion, with the low, earthen floor to your right. A variety of different shoes have been neatly lined up at the divide. Past the earthen floor is a set of sliding doors. Judging by the chains and heavy locks crisscrossing them, you won't be able to get past them. Other items of note include an umbrella rack with an umbrella in it, a door across from you, and a door to your left.

I wonder whose shoes those are.

:-)
the "eye" eyes are bolded there because she has ink eyeliner; if she's going to have a face made of eyes, her correctly placed eyes should be prettier.
there's another eyeball, a fingernail, and the spine of a book in her body cavity. the book's pages have been stuck together and folded to make a mask — this comes close, without the newspaper hat — and red lips painted on, with further inky eye makeup around the eye holes. two faces for the price of one!]
