Sasuke the super gardener eventually reaches a small clearing! And sitting on a low branch in a nearby tree is a familiar fiery bird persona...

... If that persona were actually a baby wearing a Firebird disguise.

"Ciaossu."

[of course he would find a stupid baby in Chariot's heart]

"We're going to play a game now."

The baby proceeds to draw a circle in the ground around you.

[. . . walks out of the circle before he's done and activates his Sharingan]

I'm not here to play games.

"That's too bad. The games were the easy way to go."

There's the ominous sound of both the crackling of electricity and the growling of wolves coming from the baby's direction now.

[focuses chakra on his feet to run to the top of a tall tree (if climbing trees if possible) instead of waiting for ~~his doom~~ whatever is coming]

Smart move, because nipping rather painfully at your heels are a pair of possibly familiar lightning wolves, barking madly at the base of the tree. On the back of one, looking as smug as a baby can, is the FirebirdBaby.

takes out a kunai with transparent chakra wire and throws it at the baby as fast as he can]

Stupid ninja baby. He shifts his head to the side, just enough to dodge the attack while giving a little tap to the wolves. Their aggression rises!!

[WHATEVER. TRYING TO KILL THE BABY LOOKS LIKE A BAD IDEA.

jumps to the next tree and proceeds to try to run away by jumping from tree to tree like a ninja. In the direction he was originally going to, to see if he can get there or if he needs to go back to the villa after all.]

The wolves give chase, leaping into the air to snap at his heels whenever he's moving between trees. Each leap of theirs is a little higher and a little more worrying than the last. But as Sasuke draws closer to the lake, the wolves begin to slow in their steps and, eventually, FirebirdBaby's voice is the only thing that follows Sasuke once he reaches the lake shore.

"Let's play again soon. Ciaossu!"

[jumps back down to the ground once he's sure the wolves are gone, then, and looks around the lake shore as he makes the mental note to punch Chariot's face once he's outside]

Well at least you found the lake! There's... nothing particularly notable about it; in the far distance, on the other side of he lake, you can just make out a small village there. What is possibly more notable is the small blonde teenager sitting with his legs pulled up against his chest on the lake shore, staring out across the water.

[ignoring the small village for now to approach the teenager instead]

. . . Hey.

[ His head jerks up, tensing for a moment as he stares at Sasuke then relaxing. ]

... Oh, hi.

[. . . looks around]

What are you doing here?

[ He rubs at his arm, notably his sleeves are gone and there's only the tattoo of a horse on his arm, the skin around it still a vivid pink. ]

I'm... thinking. If I'm doing this right or not.

[does look at him at some point so he notices that]

Doing what right?

Staying here. With all of... this.

[ He gestures behind him at the villa, the forest, everything. ]

What does it represent, exactly?

My life now. But sometimes I think about how it would've been different if I'd gone there instead.

[ He nods toward across the lake. ]

It might've been nicer.

[ ... Flops his head against his knees, hugging his legs tighter. ]
