You find yourselves in a well acquainted parlor while the storm rages on outside. Mother's voice resounds from somewhere unseen.

"Dear Mother will be with you in a moment, my children. But until then, please do try to become well acquainted with one another."

[You'll find a small dance card tucked into the pocket of your outfit. It has on it a description of your role. Please refer to the DP journal for a post locked to your team with the contents of your card.]

[considers] I left my family when I was very young, I'm afraid.

What of you?

...Oh.

Me too. Well, my dad. But he was bad.

[pressing his lips together for a moment, then nodding]

My father wasn't a very good man either. That was part of why I left.

Where did you go?

To the church. They took me in.

...Do churches have temples?

They're both holy structures, though they usually are associated with different religions. Some do, though.

But not yours.

Not that I recall, no.

Okay.

Do you want to ask more?

Only if you don't mind.

...Answering this is easier than... talking about the weather.

[small snort] The weather has its limits, yes.

What do you think about the value of life?

Nothing is more important.

So it would upset you if someone didn't believe in that?

Yes. I would try teaching them.

[nods] That makes me glad to hear.

Good. Nothing else is... more important.
