You find yourselves in a well acquainted parlor while the storm rages on outside. Mother's voice resounds from somewhere unseen.

"Dear Mother will be with you in a moment, my children. But until then, please do try to become well acquainted with one another."

It's fine. It seems that we're all distracted in some form or another.

It's been that sort of day.

So it has. I hope the purpose of our meeting does not exacerbate this sort of dismal mood, but if it's important, we must trudge on.

You're right, Marquis -- pardon my gloomy mood. I can't fail to shrug it off in your company.

There's no need for pardons; it's understandable, especially given our surroundings.

Neither do I. It seems to me that there are some instances in which we, the ones with power, must aid those who struggle with their attempts.

It's the mark of a good person to try and better their grip on the responsibility handed them, is all.

Perhaps, but I do not think it means you are a bad person if you fail at first.
