[Before I try fishing it up again, I am going to go into the basement where the chest was and see if there was anything I missed. Maybe a key fell out of the nest and I didn't notice who knows.]

[you can dent the trunk a little but that also blunts the pickaxe. it is also a very thick trunk.

[yyyes if you're careful, but it's still an ordinary tree on the other side]

[you could just about spare your feet. your hands -- well, you can avoid losing your fingers or cutting tendons, but you won't be able to avoid your flesh getting pricked and sliced to ribbons.]
