Wako's Heart

You are standing in the middle of the main street of a sizable downtown area.

The early morning sun hangs low in the east. The air is salty and fresh – and oh man is your nose sharp! You can smell the people who came in here with you from yards away! Other stuff smells that strong, too! There is a spring breeze in the air. How do you know it’s spring? You just do. It’s the vibe here. Tropical trees and flowers grow in window boxes and small gardens. There are fairly standard shops (a movie theater! A book store! Small clothing boutiques! And so on), with trucks, cars, and bicycles parked at the curbs. There are no people or animals in sight, but there’s birdsong hanging in the air. It seems to be coming in every direction.

Oh. And you’re dressed like stripper clowns.

[ On the side of the street to your left are a bookstore, movie theater, watch and jewelry repair shop, a cafe, and a handful of clothing stores. On the side of the street to your right are a grocery store, bakery, a wine shop, an artists' supply shop, and a few antiques stores.

A little further down the road, at an intersection, are three busses pointing north, east, and west. Focus, and you’ll be able to hear their engines running, though they’re all empty. ]

[peeks into each store in turn, looking for people]

[ There's no one there. ]

[goes to the intersection and tries to locate where the engine sound is coming from]

[ It's coming from the busses! There is a paper sign in the front window of each bus. The one pointing north says “Shindou House.” The one pointing east says “Port.” The one pointing west says “Southern Cross High.” The doors are open! The busses are running! But there are no keys… ]

[steps in a little just to get a peek inside the bus]

Like a high school?

[ I hope you're not expecting the bus to answer. That would just be crazy. ]

[Man, you never know! I've seen magical mirrors talk, okay!!!]

Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's a high school.

I'm heading to the Shindou house, to see if someone I know is there. If he's not and you go to the school maybe we can meet up later.

Probably. If you're accused of being evil, just apologize and promise not to try to conquer the world.

O...kay. I don't think anyone would think I would be taking over the world in this lame outfit anyway.
