AMETHYST

[You enter a plain white room that has a TRAGEDY mask hanging on the far wall. There is a table with three boxes: one red, one black, and one gold.]

You'll need to pick one of these. Which one will it be ... ?

Maybe if we stack some of the stones, we can jump.

A fake rabbit will not be very good bait, so I will lure them onto the net.

Bad idea. If it smells like a rabbit, it'll work.

I don't think so. It won't be moving, for one thing. And we do not know which direction the tigers will come from, so we can't know where to position it. We can't put it right in the trap, either, because they will know it's not real when they come close enough and will likely not enter it.

Um ... I can wait in the trap, if we need it.

In the trap is far too dangerous, you would be caught with the tiger.

Normally I can jump a lot farther than anyone else I know, so if we do need someone to bait it in any way I'd probably be best for it ...

No one is going to be bait.

Aah ... why not?

Because they are predators, and you will get hurt, and that is not acceptable.

What if we can't lure them into the trap without it?

Then we shall find someplace safe to hide until the tigers go away. Trapping them is not that important. But I believe we may be able to trick them by scent, at least long enough to confuse them, if they are not particularly clever.

Oh ... if that's the case, should we ... rub the plushie on us?

Re: DISCUSSION

Yes, and perhaps put a slight bit of blood on it, as Night suggests. Certainly no more than a scratch, however.

If one of us is bleeding, won't it give our location away?

The smell will confuse them enough if we all rub our fur against it. We could also use some blood to mark a trail if one of us stays under ground the rest of the time.

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] featherfetch 2011-08-24 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
That doesn't solve the biggest problem of how we won't be able to move it. We do not know where they will come from, remember.
stigmateyes: (in serious need of a nap)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] stigmateyes 2011-08-24 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't matter. They'll have to be in around the tree to find the source of the scent. They'll come to us from whatever direction. As long as the net's spread across the ground, it doesn't matter where we pull from, especially if we're going to use a second system for the other net.

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] featherfetch 2011-08-24 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
We need them to step exactly on the net. How else can we lure them to that position?
stigmateyes: (secretly intelligent)

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] stigmateyes 2011-08-24 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
They'll go for the decoy if they think it's injured. Predators are usually curious about stuff like that. I think it'll work if we leave it in the trap.
stigmateyes: (going to hurt you now)

And I'd rather lose this game than risk you or Gale or anyone else getting mauled by a tiger. We have a choice this time, after all.

I have no intention of being mauled.

Re: DISCUSSION

[personal profile] stigmateyes 2011-08-24 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
... How about this? We'll use the blood and scent option first. If the tigers aren't where they're supposed to be, ahhh, I'll dash over there and help them find their way. I know a lot about evasion and how to move when being pursued. It makes more sense for me to be the bait. If we need it.
