You find yourself in a densely wooded area, in a small clearing, facing a cabin. The windows all seem to be closed tightly, and there is a red "x" painted on the door.

There are several narrow pathways leading away into the forest, but it is dim and misty in the approaching twilight. Vines hang low from the trees, curling slightly, and the air is hushed and too quiet. There are no sounds of birds or animals.

As you enter the forest you'll see one of the trees has a black ribbon tied around a branch, like a marker. Other than that all of the trees look . . . well, exactly the same.

❧ the patients

YOU NOW HAVE your equipment bag, with your stats, and containing:

❧ several rolls of bandages
❧ scissors
❧ a scalpel
❧ numerous empty jars
❧ a bottle of clear liquid

When you examine the three patients, you find:

The girl in the first bed seems to be coughing quite a lot. She is younger-looking, and seems to be crying and scared. She has no visible wounds.

The boy in the middle bed is . . . broken or twisted in several parts. He whimpers occasionally, but doesn't seem to move much.

The person in the last man is a composed older man who stares at you with solemn button eyes. The skin (...?) of his shoulder seems to be peeling a little, as if burnt. He also makes the occasional grunt of pain, covering his stomach. His shirt is bloody!

All three of them, upon examination, have a set of . . . . . . . dials on one arm, with numbers that go from 1 to 20. they are labelled: "medicine" "bandage" "surgery" "bedside manner" "intuition" and "luck."

[divide your team's stats between each patient. for example, if you have 9 total Medicine points, you could give three to each person, or nine to one person!]
