[focusing less on the fighting and more on the reading now, fumbling a little with using magic to create those connections, but once she finds the links that Red and Snow White are using she pours her energy into them]

And knowledge from their lips will fall!

[As you speak the words of the Pledge, the feeling of attention sharpens -- and as the final words fall from your lips, it clarifies. Suddenly you are not alone.

Ghostly figures surround you, pale spirits -- but two, at least, are familiar, a middle-aged man with neatly trimmed brown hair and beard, his clothes casual, winks at you. A tall woman with curling black hair, robed but barefoot, gives you a fierce smile. Beside them are others: a young man barely out of his twenties, pale with shockingly red hair, cracks his knuckles with a grin; a woman old enough to be a grandmother settles into a wide stance, shoulders set, others surround you, encouraging, ready to fight. These are the Masters of the Academy, recalled by the Pledge to which they swore so long ago.

You sense that you can grant them power, these shades; alone, they can touch nothing physical, but with your keys, you can guide and awaken them for one last battle. Yours will have to be the directing will, for they are echoes of what once they were. But their might is yours to command, willing and eager to strike back against the enemy of this world.]

...! This is -- Thank you! Can you help everyone? I--

[giving her head a little shake and turning towards the fight, still gripping her key tight and trying to guide them with her words, glancing at the others for support]

I'm afraid I don't know much at all about magic. But I'd like to offer them support. If you know any light spells, perhaps -- you're all different, with your own specialties, I'm sure, but...if you put your magic together, it could be something bigger, right?

Uh, um, hi!?

[ANGEL SEEMS TO HAVE A HANDLE ON AIMING THEM TOWARD THE COMBATANTS; thrusts power from his key and himself at them, tinged with the water element and the desire to bind the Darkness monsters in place, make it easy to end them and finish them off]

[The sense you get in return is a wry greeting, an eager assent to your ideas. The old woman drinks Waver's power in like a sponge and sends it back deep into the earth -- deep where springs yet dwell, rousing them, calling them up...

A grey-haired giant of a man, meanwhile, nods to Apple as her power flows into him, and through him, to several of his comrades. Together they begin to incant silently, building something between them that blazes like starfire -- then rushes to enfold the heroes.]

[awed by what they can do . . . though that's dashed by the howl of the Darkness. wobbles for a moment and then summons the feeling back as best as he can: awe and courage...]

Give it to them, shield them! Turn the Darkness's fear back on itself!

[sucking in a breath and steadying herself as the Darkness hits, holding tightly to Snow White and Red and trying to push right through it, to turn it in circles on itself and throw back everything they've got at it, their strength and stubbornness and willpower all jumbled into one]

We're not through yet! Let's see how you like it!

[the young red-haired man catches your intent and nods with a grim, sharp smile; he reaches out to his comrades, and they reach out to their until they're all joined in a ring surrounding you, drinking in your will and your power. The redhead starts to repeat an incantation and his neighbors pick it up a half measure behind, their neighbors following suit -- were it not silent, you'd think it was a round they were singing, but an unseen force gathers around them, building higher, an electric pressure in the air...

...and then their lips all shape a single word, the same word, and that power breaks like a wave, hurling itself at the Darkness like a wave of raw, weaponized defiance -- the strength of wills and hearts that do not, cannot, yield.]

[trying to urge them to sustain and shape that for the final blow, bolstering everyone's attacks with love and light and will...]
