[ You are in a fragile, dim place: you can feel potential all around you, but also uncertainty. Only one thing is for sure: you are

(the Prince?)

a Hero of some kind, with the purpose of rescuing the Princess from the Villain who threatens her. This is your purpose, and you must fight evil and endure any trial that comes your way for its sake. You feel the tug of this fact, telling you to act in accordance with your own story and the part you play in it.

And yet—

A weighted wooden staff of my own height. It can be defensive and offensive, and isn't necessarily lethal, but is very versatile.

In theory, anyway. I doubt I could use it effectively as a weapon, so something else might be wasted.

Observation, because being able to step back and really look at a situation gives one a better understanding of what's going on. And Empathy, because understanding feelings helps inform your decisive action.

My weapons are the ability to begin to visualize and choose who I want to be in the future . . . and the knowledge that while others might help me grow towards it, I'm going to have to take my own steps towards it, ultimately.

ROUND TWO

[ A miniature version of the stage arises before you. Puppet-like props stand upon it, wielding the weapon (is it a weapon?) each was given. Before them is a trial: a vague sense of thorns and looming monster summoned by a Villain. ]

As a Hero, how will you destroy the thorns and fight the dragon to rescue the Princess?

Instead of being generally destructive, maybe it's time to leave these people -- and, er, their dragon -- alone and think very hard about your life choices. Sort yourself out. That sort of thing.

Maybe try therapy with a licensed professional.
