[ You're inside a dome :|b The walls are high and gently sloped -- the whole room must be twenty feet in diameter. In the middle of the room are a set of scales -- they are uneven. Three pebbles are on one side and nine on the other. There are three doors on the wall opposite you (past the scales). Each door is made of dark wood and has gold lettering.]

So uh! I actually have an objection to doing the right thing for toe-loving Rhonda. I'm not here to head-pat the bits of Three that'd actually do that. I'd rather find the bits that'd rip Rhonda's head off and sort those out. I dunno how this works, but . . .

...huh. Does this answer tell us where we're going, or does it change a part of her that might rip Rhonda's head off? That's kind of extreme for toes.

I dunno. It's hard to tell. But I don't think playing it safe is gonna get us anywhere here.

It's not our true answer, though...

How about if we just say "punish her?" She probably thinks getting medicine or whatever is a punishment anyway if she's obsessed with getting more toes, so it works.

. . . that'd work!

Cutting toes is very extreme. And likely illegal in most places. Punishment would be locking her behind bars, wouldn't it? And that's already done.

We've got to start somewhere!

We probably only have one chance at this, that's the thing. I'd rather make all the effort I can to get to the bit that needs the most change.

If this is all relevant to sorting her out, then we can't give a completely terrible answer.

What Lloyd said about punishment would work better for me than an obviously completely sympathetic answer, I think.

If we're allowed to give that kind of answer then "Make her understand the pain she has caused and the consequences of her actions, then have her fix or make up for the damage she has done."

If Knife is right that this is a gateway, I agree that I want to get to the worst parts of Three. Having to atone is a kind of punishment, too.

Alright. I'm not entirely down with phrasing it as punishment, 'cause punishment just makes angry people angrier.

You'd probably wanna kill her, right? Look, my guess is that this is very controlled, it's hard to tell how many people have passed through here, but they probably have and she's still locked up, so the rooms probably reset after a group is through.

I want to fix one part of her. I've got no interest and no problem with most of her. I've only got a problem with the part of her that made me drive a mental stick through Lloyd's brain. I think saying "punishment" and leaving it vague as to what we mean by it would suit everyone, because honestly I don't think I'd be as sympathetic as the rest of you anyway.
