His legs swing beneath the table anxiously.

[He watches the boy a few moments more, then he gets to his feet- up and out of the booth they have been sitting in.

Then, he kneels at the end of the table, facing Loki.]

I neither know nor remember the Loki that was. I know only the Loki who has made me laugh; who has proved himself not only a stalwart friend but also the worthiest of brothers. Despite that, I give you this oath:

Whatsoever memories I regain of the Loki who was, I shall love and defend thee, brother mine.

[He places his hand upon his heart. This oath is not lightly given- not after all he has seen and all which Loki has confided in him.]

Take heart, Loki. I have found no evil within thee.

This is like a distant memory, something very close but so far. He watches him with a mixture of love and admiration.

He swallows hard and there's a little nod.

"I know ... Thor, truly ..." Maybe he'll cry. "...Thank you..."
