You sit on the other side of the stage now, in an auditorium full of cracked and dusty stone chairs. It's cold and uncomfortable, but the stage before you still commands your attention, with the curtains now drawn back and shadows flickering upon it.

You are one half of a story to be played out today: either a hero or a monster. You must invent a backstory, motivation, set of powers, and anything else necessary for your monster or hero to defeat its opponent. Both consistency and creativity will be factored into scoring; for best results, tie their powers into their archetype as well as the backstory and motivation you give them.

The Princess was cursed to become a jellyfish once she came of age. When she learned that she was cursed by the Wicked Fairy, the Princess decided that she wanted to learn more about magic herself. Part of it was because she wanted to be able to protect herself from the Fairy's curse, but part of it was that she wanted to understand the Fairy a little better, as well. So she learned how to control magic with her beautiful voice, and could soon create strong barriers and heal herself and others with her song. She surrounded herself with positive music and energy, and so became resistant to negative energy. As she honed her abilities, the Princess thought about her curse, and realized that even as a jellyfish she would be able to live in a beautiful ocean and see the happy faces of her family. She decided that rather than fighting the Fairy when the time came, she wanted to use her song to bring happiness to the Fairy's heart-- maybe then she wouldn't feel like she had to curse others.

ROUND TWO

The players in this show have been created! Now it's time to plan your attack. You can see what your opponents designed; give an explanation of how your hero or monster attacks it.

The Wicked Fairy saw that the Princess was in danger from the corruption of the King and Queen, and so she’s going to hide the Princess by turning her into a ghost so she can be safe, and then go out to fight the King and Queen by punching them.

And also, the Wicked Fairy is very, very hot and apparently that is important.

We sing to the fairy and the parents, and we touch their hearts with our positive feelings. We want the parents to rise above their corruption and to help the fairy and the parents see eye-to-eye. That way, no one has to be punched.
