[ You're in a room that's more like a grotto. You can hear water dripping rhythmically around you and the air smells

damp. An unknown source provides an ample bit of light though so sight shouldn't be a problem.

And held in a rocky structure in the center of the room is your card. ]

Hmm, who wants something to drink?

I will take a drink. So...why is the drunkard involved with this game? It seems we are meant to talk about our chosen role.

[ooc: gonna be really slow sorry!!]

[it's all good we can be slow together]

I'm not quite sure, though I know we've done games like this before. We're supposed to play this role, though I admit I don't care for the sound of this game much. I would rather not be casting suspicion on people for such a little thing.

Hmm, well, I do think we could come up with an interesting strategy for it. If we have a lot to drink, it might give everyone else a clue as to our role without stating it outright, yes? It's just a thought though. Is there anything else we might do?

If our role is bound to change anyway, I'm not sure what good it would do to tell people. It might serve us better to focus on telling a story.

What kind of story?

[personal profile] stageplay 2014-08-02 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if our role is a drunk, then we'll have to go from there somehow. Perhaps their desolate about having suffered a terrible loss, and turned to alcohol for consolation.

Perhaps we are invested in figuring out who the traitors are because they did wrong to one of our loved ones. That may be a reason for us to drink so heavily.

Are drinking and investigating tied together? It sounds interesting though.

A mournful, vengeful individual, nursing a grudge as well as a bottle... Perhaps the traitors even somehow brought about the death of a wife.

[personal profile] appleofhiseye 2014-08-02 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Well, the first part sounds fine if you'd like that, but there's no need to add in a death like that. There are plenty of other reasons to bring someone to justice.

Maybe they stole our prized vegetables and won a competition with them, saying they were theirs?
appleofhiseye: (Yellow Dock)

[personal profile] appleofhiseye 2014-08-02 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
[gasps!!]

That's truly devious of them. Of course we'd have to bring them to justice for that.
damnsel: (bashful | whoops...?)

We were never the same. Our vegetables were like our children.

[listening to Asaka's suggestion]

Maybe that's why the wife was a traitor...

That's a good idea. No wonder we took up drinking.

What an unexpectedly tragic tale. We should get our vegetables and our wife back.

Perhaps that's why we choose to try another profession.

Ah...

[ thinks, then holds up a finger ]

What about the opposite, then? She up and vanished while investigating them on her own, but... well, there's a chance we could become traitors by switched roles, too, isn't there? So perhaps the truth of it is that she joined up with them.

It's true, it would have been a shocking blow to lose everything at once. But that revelation could lead to our change in role.

The left card, please.

And our tale is that our prized vegetables that were like our children were stolen, and one of the traitors won a competition with them. We wanted justice for this but our sorrows led to drinking. Our wife was investigating it on her own and then vanished, but there's a chance that she joined up with them in order to get the vegetables back. And, uhm, I suppose that revelation is why we switched to whatever role we have now.
