Well yes, they do. We don't have to make them carnivorous if we don't want to, though.

Eating meat does make the most sense though, so we'll go with that.

Living in a forest surrounded by mountains, all that live there know that he's the ruler of this place, and he considers the very forest his precious treasure!

Now then, let's see...

He's the protector of the forest, and the bounties of nature allow him to live comfortably. He treats all things within the forest with respect, and does his best to help anyone and anything that's troubled inside. When he's not busy helping people, he's investigating new breeds of plants and flowers, to make his forest more diverse and beautiful for his true treasure is the land itself.

We like him for his kind heart yet inquisitive mind, that constantly searches for new ways to make the forest more and more wonderful.
