You find yourself back on the race track, this time with a variety of materials scattered across several tables. The audience cheering has died down, but you can still hear distant voices, murmuring, waiting.

Your task is to design and build a chariot that best represents your team. You will be given 600 points to spend on materials that you wish to use to construct your chariot, or spells to sabotage other teams. Each material will have certain stat bonuses, based on strength, defense, speed, stamina, and style. How you balance these stats out is entirely up to you.

Once you have completed this task, the race will begin! You will have an opportunity to pit your mount against other teams, and, if you spend points for them, use boosts to your benefit--or sabotage others. Keep in mind that other teams have this option as well, and your team may end up being the target of a sabotage spell. Certain stats may protect you from sabotage spells, but if they’re too low, you might have a problem. Lastly, although a well-balanced chariot may help you in the race, it does not guarantee a win in the game.

Your chariot right now is a plain-looking two wheeler that creaks a bit when you ride it. It’s big enough to fit your entire team, but you’ll be somewhat cramped. Your mount is a single horse, who is somewhat old and lazy. Your wheels are bronze and slightly rusted. The reigns are made of coarse rope. You get the sense that this chariot will certainly do the trick if necessary, buuuuut it won’t be great.

You have 600 points to spend. NOTE: You cannot race with a chariot that has a stat of 0 or less; all stats must have a value of at least 1 to race in the final product.

That isn't a lot of points if we want to upgrade to the four-wheeler, but that one seems like the smartest idea.

From there, we go with add-ons. I want Iolite's color, even if it's a waste of ten points. I'm a fan of picking a stat and going for it—maybe stamina?

Stamina or speed is the best bet. We could focus on sabotages that interfere with the stamina or speed of each other too.

That's a good idea. If we take all of the add ons for speed and stamina, then we have 155 to spend on boosts, so one hundred. We can look into defense add ons for the extra fifty-five.

Maybe the Now You See me one.

Good idea. Do you think it's likely that people will be focusing on boosting speed in this, though? There's a chance that their stats might outweigh this ultimately.

Some might focus on attack.

Good point. We'll be pretty well boosted in speed, so ... let's try it.

Yeah, that one was ... tedious. But it turns out I have more people here who know me than I thought.

That's mostly it. I got back archery recently, too.

It seems we have more archers than sword-fighters now. Maybe I should look into that one.

Do you use a sword usually?

Before I came here, I used a gun. A sword just seemed a better fit for this world.

I use a sword, too, but not as much as my bow. But a bow isn't much good in close-combat scenarios.

A gun works for long-distance, but an arrow would have greater range.
