The room is like any other room, really—a cabin with a door, and windows, and beds. But the fireplace never gets warm, and the beds are hard, and the air is cold.

On the table there is food—water, and dry bread, and there is a pot of stew that always stays warm, and full, and smells delicious.

There are also five cards, waiting for your decision.

Perhaps. I still won't go lower than that.

I'll consent to the six card if you agree not to play any cards that will obviously kill someone with their play for the rest of the game.

. . . For as long as there are cards that can offer enough points instead. And in the case we're only left with cards that might kill someone, we will use the least painful ones.

Only left with those cards AND don't have enough points to spare to swap our hand.

And even then, we will have to play some during that round.

I understand that could happen, but I do want to make sure it's only a last option reset and not a play for points.

It'll be a last option. But if we're hit hard, that's going to be off the table. Do we agree on that?

It stays on the table, even then. Otherwise, I'd demand all other considerations be taken off the table as well, if we're going to insist on a 'play to survive and win' scenario.

I don't care about winning. I only care about surviving and for that we need enough points for a barrier.

You can't say we're going to focus on only our team, then double back and say we're also protecting these other teams as well. If you're going to focus on just our team, every team is on the table then.

We're focusing on them too by not hitting them. It's practically all we can do. We'd be focusing more on them if we used the best cards, but you want that off the table unless we've got no other choice.

And I'm saying you can't claim you're pushing hard to use the ten cards to protect Onyx if you're not willing to hit every team.

[in a very odd tone.]

I'm saying you're acting exactly like the teams I hate being paired up with, who go on and on about how they'll protect only themselves, and oh, these people who are important to them too, and act like it's okay to screw every other team over in the process because they're not important.

Guess what Sasuke, I'm not important to just about every team playing because I don't have any connections. Any protection I receive by being on this team is because of another member of Onyx. I'm fine with the injuries, I those heal, but I don't want to die just because I'm not fucking important enough to someone. So I don't want to kill anyone for that same damn reason.

[moves closer, to attempt to grab Dino's collar.]

No. The difference between them and what I am doing is that I'm aware I'm killing innocent people. That no one deserves to die except for the system that puts us in this situation in the first place. It's not okay and I will never pretend it is.

I don't see it like you do. I do deserve to die, but I just refuse to see Onyx die again.
