dramatispersonae | Mirage Heart

At first, it feels like your limbs have gone totally limp and you’re floating gently underwater, slowly and serenely making your way down a dark blue abyss... and then it occurs to you you’re actually flying rather than being engulfed, and it's actually the deep blue sky stretching out around you in every direction. It’s awe inspiring, and it leaves you with a wonderful feeling of being completely capable and free...

That is, until you begin having difficulties, your body is too unbalanced and heavy to keep the flying up. It soon becomes apparent the floating feeling you’ve been having is actually falling, and as if to reflect the realization, the velocity changes immediately to a gut-wrenching DROP. The world blurs, the sound of something shattering echoes in your ears, and your body feels like it is about to be pulled apart as something CRUNCHES.

The experience leaves you utterly befuddled. It takes a while to regain your senses...

[ They go back to the area with magic symbols drawn everywhere. Siana begins dusting the chalk off. ]

[ It's steady work, hard to get out completely. It takes a few minutes. /but once the hallway is clear of chalk, there's a new door into an old apartment -- how did you miss that before? ]

[ When you touch the doorknob, you are overwhelmed by a huge loneliness and insecurity. ]

[ You step into... a destitute apartment, with all the typical hangings of an apartment. Something immediately crosses in front of Gil's eyes-- a person? But he wouldn't recognize them. They go through a wall.

Everything here seems to be propped up carefully, though it's all moth eaten and rotten. It feels empty, despite all the things in it, the feeling of ABSENCE in the air. From a room in the back, there's cheerful humming. ]

[Recoiling very slightly at the feelings of loneliness and insecurity, but pushing through regardless. Her gaze flits around the room, observing the propped up objects.]

[ Siana calls after, before slamming the apartment door shut on you. The carefully propped objects are what you would expect of a Korean living room, like a small dining table and cushions to sit on. There's a broken in TV in the corner, that a family presumably watched during dinner once-upon-a-time. ]

[Glancing at the door with an absent look after she slams it shut, then pushing through the door that the humming is coming from.]

[ When she follows the humming she comes across the bedroom, where a wardrobe has been spilled open -- all sorts of garments lie on the floor. There are old dolls scattered about, bearing resemblance to Mirage's CR in Aather. Including you. ]

[ And in the midst of it all, the one humming is Mirage, dressed up in a shoddy Doctor's coat and with a stethoscope. He's playing with one of the dolls -- a doll which resembles Iris on Peridot, to be precise. ]

[... sitting down on the ground across from him]

So you're the doctor, huh?

That's me!

I see, I see! So, what's your diagnosis?

[nodding towards the doll in his hand]

Perfectly healthy! Because he's come for treatment so often recently, of course.

Oh, that's always good to hear.

[picking up her own doll, and scanning the pile for anyone else she might know]

How about this one?

[ When Lambda picks up her toy, she gets the feeling of fellowship, playfulness, and mild jealousy. She's fairly well put together, but some seams are loose. As for who else she would know, well, there's the Lamperogues, Vincent, Kira and Shes, Temeraire, Selenia, Shark and Dragonfly, Peridots... a whole bunch? is she looking for anyone in particular? ]

Oh, she's doing alright! Could do for a check-up soon, though?

[instinctively raising an eyebrow the slightest bit at the mild jealousy; that, she wasn't quite expecting.]

[ VINCENT IS SO PRACTICALLY DESTROYED. ]

[ Nunnally doesn't fare much better, but she's together. Lelouch looks fairly together, but there are rips. ]

Mmmn, yeah, could do.

We can't have that... What would you recommend for it, Doctor?

She just needs to take care of her body a little more.

[ Cal tugs at the seams, pulling her back more together. It's temporary solution, but the doll doesn't look like it is about to rip by having the seams burst! ]

[motioning towards some of the more beat up dolls, poking very lightly at Nunnally and Vincent's as she does]

Still, some of these are in pretty bad shape. What happened here?

No insurance.

[ As they're more beat up, when you poke them the feelings are more distant. You can't get a reading on Vincent at all, except maybe-- mild boredom/apathy? And Nunnally is a vague fondness. ]
