Once there was a hero who heard that a magical sword had been buried along with its owner. Being an enterprising sort, he decided that was a waste of a good sword, especially since he thought he could get better use out of it than the dead.
Because the ground was hard, the grave had been dug more shallowly than usual. The hero thought, well, that's a stroke of luck. This will be easy. All he had to do was break into the burial chamber, and the sword would be his. So he waited until nightfall, when no one would be around to see him. Carefully, he dug into the grave. It wasn't long until he found the coffin. It looked slightly strange -- there were some weird mechanisms around the edges. But the hero had come this far, so he wasn't going to back down now.
He pried open the coffin and heard a click. Before he could react, he was promptly burned to death by the fire trap that had been installed to prevent graverobbers. Obviously, he didn't get the sword.
In conclusion, he died because he didn't take proper precautions. Anyone important enough to have something valuable like a magic sword wasn't going to buried without anti-thief measures! If he'd spent more time casing the burial site and paid more attention to his surroundings, he wouldn't have died. I mean, seriously, all it would've taken was disabling the fire mechanism.
I'm not really comfortable writing about this sort of thing, so I'm going to try to give it my own spin.
In an alternate universe the hero may have died like that, but in the real one ... he hadn't! Instead, he was a wota -- he was supporting his favorite idol group as hard as he could. Even if it was difficult, though, he was always going to protect them even if it threw him into the line of fire! He didn't die, though. Instead, he wielded his micsaber - which is like a sword! - to defeat DES so that they couldn't hurt anyone anymore. Not that he killed DES, either. He just stunned them! But anyway, that's it. It's a story with a good ending, not a bad ending that involves death.
