[The interior of the tent is slightly dim, light filtering only poorly through the paper. Instructions for Round One are already inscribed on the back wall of the tent.]
[Have you ever wondered what stories are built of? Or where Personae truly come from? It seems the current crop don’t suit all of you, and you’d prefer a Realm where you could make your own choices and work your own fates. But you’re afraid to pay the price for it.
Using no more than three of the pieces of detritus you salvaged from Camelot’s ash-heap, today we’ll craft a Persona together, and see if you can do a better job than Beauty’s spell.
Devise a name for your Persona. Then, build them an identity to match. An idea that gives them power, a question they want to answer, and a unique ability they use to get what they want. Each of these must correspond with a piece of salvage now in your tent, but you may use the same piece more than once, if your imagination is strained. Then, write their story - one sentence from every person in your tent, no more and no less.]
[OOC: fill out the following list for your Persona and submit as a team in no later than 3 PM EST. Earlier turn-ins are preferred if possible. As soon as you have submitted, ping Mordred in chan.]
Name: It's up for them to decide! An Idea: A Persona that is free to be whatever they want to be (the item that goes with the idea): A snake fang A question: Whatever they want to question (the item that goes with the question): A snake fang An Ability: Whatever they want to do. (the item that goes with the ability): A snake fang A Story: Once upon a time, four teams were told to make their own Persona for a game. But the game was stupid, so they decided to do their best to make a Persona that could make their own decisions. So they gave that persona the idea of being able to find their own question, and the ability to do whatever they want to do. And so, when the Persona was made, they could do their own thing.
The persona found a hobby, one which they enjoyed doing. Once the Persona found one hobby, they worked on finding more hobbies, until they found many things they wanted to do. And so the Persona spent their time doing what they wanted to do. The End."
[When you return to your tents, the inscription on the wall has changed:
How often our heroes fail to live up to our ideals. What follows is the tale of a Persona crafted by your companions today, twisted by nothing more or less than the weight of narrative itself. Describe how you would free them from their role without harming too many of your fellows - but again, take no more than one sentence per person to do so. You may submit your answers individually, one sentence at a time, or as a group.]
[OOC: submit your answers no later than 6 PM EST. When you have submitted, ping Mordred in chan.]
The Kingdom of Free Will is a collective-Persona of xenophobic, close-minded anarchists. Unable to reach decisions as a whole, they accomplish little with their games. Their story is fractious and incomprehensible. Still, when those who play with them disturb or agitate their expectations, they’re very quick to go for their swords, which rather limits the options for persuasion, as does the fact that after any epiphany a game springs upon them, they cannot reach consensus on what exactly has changed, and simply revert to the same behavior as ever.
We as a group feel that pure anarchy is no way to accomplish goals or move forward and progress. Either as a group, or individually. We feel that standards of objectivity and decision making are necessary as these form the basis of all knowledge. The best way to introduce this would be with enlightening books that will help their community evolve to a peaceful cooperative of like-minded individuals. Surely there will be some initial resistance, but it is best to let this persona/community come to its own conclusions. As heroes we can only passively aid in the evolution of this persona.
I still have a few sentences so here's a poem: Once there was some anarchist fellows, who made everyone cower yellow. We gave them some books, they gave us dirty looks, and then somehow they turned out all mellow.
