[The interior of the tent is slightly dim, light filtering only poorly through the paper. Instructions for Round One are already inscribed on the back wall of the tent.]
[Have you ever wondered what stories are built of? Or where Personae truly come from? It seems the current crop don’t suit all of you, and you’d prefer a Realm where you could make your own choices and work your own fates. But you’re afraid to pay the price for it.
Using no more than three of the pieces of detritus you salvaged from Camelot’s ash-heap, today we’ll craft a Persona together, and see if you can do a better job than Beauty’s spell.
Devise a name for your Persona. Then, build them an identity to match. An idea that gives them power, a question they want to answer, and a unique ability they use to get what they want. Each of these must correspond with a piece of salvage now in your tent, but you may use the same piece more than once, if your imagination is strained. Then, write their story - one sentence from every person in your tent, no more and no less.]
[OOC: fill out the following list for your Persona and submit as a team in no later than 3 PM EST. Earlier turn-ins are preferred if possible. As soon as you have submitted, ping Mordred in chan.]
"Name: None, because we refuse to make one. An Idea: None. (the item that goes with the idea): A question: None. (the item that goes with the question): An Ability: None. (the item that goes with the ability): A Story: Given everything we've gathered, you can tell that we know Aather well. We know we need to heal, you know we need to survive, and you know we need knowledge. A lot of people have come and go in the past, and a lot of people have lost their memories and their lives while being dedicated to changing things. Everything I've learned since I've first arrived is to change things, to slowly work at it, and that's good—but there's a catch.
We can't choose to change you. You have to choose yourselves, and we're wrong in thinking that we can say the darkness is hurting you or assign a reason to what you're doing. That's up to you, isn't it?
I don't know what way is the right way, but I do think that we're meant to assist the personae in being who they want to be. It's not up to us to say anything about you, but I think you're a little afraid, and that's okay. You might not know your path yet, and that's okay, too. But you have an opportunity, Mordred, to really take a stand here and be who you want to be. That might be someone bad, but no one's perfect. I think ... around Aather, people accept good and bad all the time, but it's easy for us to dislike you for it. And I think it's easy for you to accept that. You want us to decide that, to take everything we've learned.
Disrupting the status quo is good. Honestly, I think we're lucky to have you if that's what you're here for. But other people are frustrated with you, and with good reason.
But, here we are, I guess. Don't we all have something better to do? Personally, I'm a little jealous that your mom is here, so instead of worrying about what everyone thinks, why don't you go talk to her? Spend time with her. I miss my mom a lot, so it's a start.
But honestly, I thought Jasper made a point the other day. And Sapphire and Ruby, too. No one wants to stand for awful behavior, but you're kind of forcing our hands into it. Or trying to make a point or whatever. Give us a game worth playing, like we said, and stop being afraid.

[When you return to your tents, the inscription on the wall has changed:
How often our heroes fail to live up to our ideals. What follows is the tale of a Persona crafted by your companions today, twisted by nothing more or less than the weight of narrative itself. Describe how you would free them from their role without harming too many of your fellows - but again, take no more than one sentence per person to do so. You may submit your answers individually, one sentence at a time, or as a group.]
[OOC: submit your answers no later than 6 PM EST. When you have submitted, ping Mordred in chan.]
The Sword of Alexander is a Persona with a strong dislike of complications, and an inexplicable distaste for bonds. Violent and self-righteous, its menacing games seek to trim away nuance and complexity, seeking a story in which no-one is held back by their limitations. While noble, in games it shows no qualms about mystically severing unnecessary loyalties, turning heroes against one another so that they may seek their own goals, unfettered by the very pasts they wish to earn back, or the friendships they have won here, with no understanding of how these things help heroes face the Darknes and emerge victorious. And with no form but a literal blade, it is very difficult to tell if the Sword listens to anything it is told.
I think we should thank it for trying to help us. It sounds like it has the right idea in mind, and the way this is written makes it sound bad. That's all.
