[You find yourselves surrounded by mud walls and a ceiling, the grass of the clearing still dense under your feet. The room is well-lit by the usual lights that litter Aather during the night. There is a small pool of water in one corner and a piece of paper stuck to one of the walls]

THE PAPER

The rules of this game are very simple. You will be offered a task, either to perform yourself or to force another team to perform. You may choose to accept the task or to retire from the game. The teams who accept the most tasks will receive memories as well as the knowledge that they have given more power to revive our world

Be warned that retiring from the game means that you will be more likely to be forced to perform a task by another team than if you had not chosen to quit.

And do try to decide quickly. There will be consequences for lingering.

[Sea snakes emerge from the pool long enough to deposit a long rope on the ground before disappearing back into the water. As they do so, the Sea Witch's voice emanates from the pool and echoes around the room] Your task is for one of you to tie their feet together. When you are done, I will give you your next task. If you want to leave the game now, the decision must be unanimous. If you all agree then place your hands into the pool and speak your decision together.

((please ping me on IRC in your team chan when you've made a decision either way. There's no need to have finished playing out the task thread as long as you've started it, and that goes for every round))

[This time, the snakes deposit some (somehow dry) pieces of paper and pencils. Again the Sea Witch's voice fills the room] For your second task, you will agree to let me force a member of another team to drink a potion of my choosing. The effects may be slightly embarrassing but they will not be painful. This time, you must each write your decision on one of the pieces of paper before placing it in the pool. If you cannot write, simply mark the paper however you choose- your intention is what is important. If all of you, or all but one, decide to stop then you will be out of the game. If two or more vote to continue then the task will be carried out and you will continue.

You cannot show another how you have marked the paper.

((If any of them try to show someone else the paper it will appear blank. If they try to throw blank paper into the pool it will stick to their fingers until they've made a decision and marked it. Please comment to your team thread here with your character's decision))

[Sea snakes deposit a small vial on the ground next to the pool] Someone has chosen to force a member of a team to drink, and I have picked your team. The effects won’t hurt, and if you don’t drink you may start finding it difficult to breathe.

[The water level in the pool begins to creep upwards]

((when drunk, the potion will cause the drinker's skin to sparkle))

ROUND 3

[This time it is a needle and what looks like an earring that are left next to the pool] For this task you have three choices. You may pierce an agreeing team member and put this ring through the hole or force another team to do the same. Or, of course, you may quit. If you decide to do it yourselves I will know when you have done it. If you decide on one of the other choices it must be unanimous, and you must all touch the water as I described before and tell me your decision.

...Uhhh, I know that I already took a turn but I do got ...some lil' holes in my ears for earrings I don't got. Another one won't make a difference. Don't mind if someone else wants it or whatever though.

[The snakes leave pieces of paper again, and this time also a vial of liquid] This round is the same as the last involving potions, however in this case the results of drinking them will be far less pleasant. Moderately painful, one might say. You must decide whether to allow a member of another team to be forced to drink, or leave the game now. I have provided a sample in case you want to know the exact effects before you make your decision, but I’m afraid one of you will have to drink it to find out.
