Erika heart

You get the sense that you pass through a door, but it shuts immediately behind you. However, when you look back, there is nothing but a dead end wall behind you. There is carpet is lush beneath your feet, and the corners are free of dust. Except for the lack of any actual entrance, it could easily be the entranceway of a lavish mansion.

Any magical or otherwise supernatural abilities you have are disabled.

What are you doing there? How are you balancing?

The only thing required for it to support your weight is truth.

Then I'm surprised you are supported.

Must I guess at some truth to reach you? Another mystery, perhaps?

Guesses shouldn't be required at this point. You merely must present me with a truth about me and a truth about you. Strong ones, of course.

Are you still gathering information even now? Though that doesn't explain why you'd need to hear something about yourself.

. . . As for you . . .

You sneer at decisions based on emotion rather than logic, but your obsession with logic and truth is in and of itself based in emotion. I'm certain you realize this. You're an intelligent girl. I have met people who are truly emotionless, and they are nothing like you. The very fact that you have emotions causes emotions within you, and so you try to squash them, baiting others who show signs of not doing the same.

How embarrassing . . . I'm not certain what I expected to find here! Truly it wouldn't be Furudo Erika's soul without resulting in my humiliation!

. . .

I am afraid to show weakness to anyone, but even I'm not certain what it is that frightens me. When I consider logically what the outcome of revealing my fears would be--none of them are as painful as it is to hide them--and yet I can't bring myself to share them. I mustn't be seen as weak. However . . . refusing to face such obstacles makes them all the more terrifying.

The lattice supports your weight now, but you get the strong feeling that if you lie while on it, you'll fall.

As you get closer to Erika, you can see that her looks are somewhat in the uncanny valley. She seems almost like a doll, and you can almost make out joints at her wrists... Are those marionette strings, just barely catching the light? But it's hard to notice unless you're paying close attention.

[not noticing quite yet, not at this distance. humans are all kind of uncanny valley, man.]

What is this, then? Why are you here suspended? Is this where your black heart is seated?

[but saying this pretty fondly.]

Perhaps. Perhaps not.

[AND WITH THAT CRYPTIC STATEMENT you are whisked out of the game.]
