You get the sense that you pass through a door, but it shuts immediately behind you. However, when you look back, there is nothing but a dead end wall behind you. There is carpet is lush beneath your feet, and the corners are free of dust. Except for the lack of any actual entrance, it could easily be the entranceway of a lavish mansion.

Any magical or otherwise supernatural abilities you have are disabled.

Then there was reason for doing so. It was thrown in through the door before the other two murders, and only after the other two were disposed of was the fire put out. If other Erikas would be alarmed, could it be that two culprits could not simultaneously murder three victims face-to-face, and so remote methods needed to be employed?

Remote methods were not employed. The victims were not murdered simultaneously. Of course, it's possible for the other victims to be murdered quietly, but burning would surely draw attention, wouldn't it?

Then the burning was committed by J instead of S, as J did not have the gumption to personally murder someone with her own hands.
